The Advances in Neuroblastoma Research is the international “think tank” for neuroblastoma investigators. ANR meetings are held every two years at different international cities. These meetings provide for an exchange of information among investigators from around the globe who are studying neuroblastoma biology, diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy. They are intensive and interesting days when great science and important clinical experiences are shared among more than 600 participants from all over the world. Conference organizers have received over 400 submitted abstracts from 29 countries, and will be organizing about 50 invited presentations in workshops, and sessions. In 2008 James Fund researcher, Dr. David Kaplan, took the Top Award at the ANR Conference in Japan, for his discovery of the neuroblastoma stem cell. (His work was subsequently featured at the American Cancer Society Conference in Los Angeles as some of the hottest science in the world, even in adult cancer circles). James Fund researcher, Dr. Sylvain Baruchel, represents Canada on the ANR Board and is the Chair of the ANR 2012 conference, to be held from June 18-21 in Toronto. http://www.jamesfund.com/advances-in-neuroblastoma-research http://www.anr2012.com/templates/speakers http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/media-advisory-descending-on-toronto-are-worlds-top-scientists-researching-one-deadliest-1669897.htm The 2nd Annual International Neuroblastoma Awareness Week will be taking place from June 11th - June 17th, 2012. Please help us support and remember the children and the families that have been touched by neuroblastoma, and those that continue their brave fight still today. While some may call it an "orphan" or "rare" disease, the truth is it effects countless families each and every day.
